Designing for Digital: What print-book designers should know…

Here are the course notes for our Designing for Digital course. Download the PDF for free (600K), or read the notes here.

This course is for designers, editors and production managers in book-publishing companies. Most publishers are looking to use their content in ebooks or on websites or cellphones, and the aim of this course is to help production teams understand how their work does and will increasingly affect the way books works and look when they’re not just in print.

(Please note that in the fast-changing digital-publishing industry, parts of this material could be out of date. It was last updated in September 2010.)

I just paid $9.00 for a day pass. I wanted to download the article called “What print-book designers should know about eBooks.” I made a credit card payment. When asked for my password I could not fill it in because I did not set a password. I believe that I was informed that I would receive an email that would allow me to reset the password. I have not received that email. Please help me.
    Thank you.

Hi Harry. I don’t know what day pass you mean (Scribd, perhaps?). We don’t charge for that download here on the knowledge base. Here’s the PDF: http://ebw.co/downloads/DesigningForDigital_20100908.pdf
